I've finally got some plans together for my poor master bedroom. It's sad how many makeovers and re-incarnations my "downstairs" rooms have gotten in the last several years. In fact, three houses and five years has clocked a lot of decorating time but never in my bedroom.
2013 is going to change that.
Like most of y'all, I'm doing a lot of working with what I've got, but, new linens and new accessories and hopefully a new pair of bedside tables will go a long way to getting her where I want her.
What about you?
Is your bedroom your oasis or a hodge podge of post college bargain finds and parental cast-offs?
Have you bought nice sheets or a new mattress yet?
My style has definitely evolved a lot since having kids. My dreams of an all white spa retreat have been thwarted by my kids uncanny ability to sneak raisins and dirty fingers into my room.
I'm digging a more masculine and earthy look for sure. Moody and durable.
Let's chat!

ooo..love it!
ReplyDeleteSo cute, love how you put it together.
ReplyDeleteI'm digging those dark walls and the pillows. I'm starting in on our master this year too. I'm tired of hating my room. When people come over to the house and want to look around I always have the door shut and hope they don't ask to see it :D
ReplyDeleteOh yes! I love this! Very very cool! I feel very relaxed in this room. I keep putting my master bedroom off and it's the one room in the house I really hate right now. I think we put it off because no one really sees it. People are so awkward about going in your master, like they're going to see something they're not supposed to, which is kind of funny to me.
ReplyDeletenumber 1 - I love how the pillows tie it all in. especially the gray/orange ones.
ReplyDeletenumber 2 - those prints give a really good natural and textural element to the space to balance the geometric. well done you!
third - yay for that fabric. I have a large roman shade (for a double window) that you can HAVE out of that fabric, if you can find a use for it. :)
It looks awesome! Cant wait to see it come together!
ReplyDeleteSo warm and cool at the same time. Love it!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Great mix of fabrics and colors. And those shams are all kinds of awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love using chests as night tables. I also love a bench at the end of a bed. Your lighting mix is fun and unexpected.
ReplyDeleteYep, love it. And you've just about convinced me to do this color over my green...
ReplyDeleteLove your design! Especially the wall color!
ReplyDeleteLove it! What is that wall color? It's perfect!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I personally am not loving the white walls that everyone else does, probably because I have 4 kids and 2 dogs. The darker color and masculine feel is really refreshing. I think I'm way over the blah spa bedrooms that everyone loves. I like some personality in the bedroom, those pillows are fabulous! Although I love pretty much everything you do so of course this is another great room design by you!
ReplyDeleteReally nice, good luck seeing it through!
ReplyDeleteWhere are the nightstands from? I love them!
ReplyDeleteAhh, so pretty!! I have a friend that has that rug in her bedroom, and I absolutely love it...it's so thick and plush!
ReplyDeleteThat rug with those walls are everything- you def have an eye for this stuff!

I really like the board you put together. Funny, i posted about our master bedrm today too. I think it just needs to be a place w/ colors you love. That's why mine is turquoise & hot pink--malibu barbie, I know.
ReplyDeletelove it! i have the all white bed and linens going on in my room, yet somehow my own dirty hands + snacks in bed have already destroyed it.

I've never slept better than I do in my "new" room. Browns, tans, gray, ivory....absolutely dreamy. Still want to change my brown walls to a light gray, but the brown went from "ugh" to "ahhhhh" in a matter of moments after the redec/rearrange! Do it! Do it now. You'll live it!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love that wall color and those pillows!

Love this design plan! Go for it! We redecorated our master and bought new furniture last year - I love our "grown up" room! Where is the rug from? I'm loving it and want it for our house - please share!
ReplyDeleteLove your plan! I was so happy to have finally done our master last year. It helps at the end of a long day to go into something grown up.
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful, Julia! You're going to love it and execute it perfectly!
ReplyDeleteLove the pillows! I actually have that rug in my living room and have been looking for throw pillows. Do you mind if I ask where you found them? Thank you and love your blog!
ReplyDeleteI like what I see! I am thinking whites + wood tones for our bedroom too. Such a classic combo.
ReplyDeleteI love the board! Question, do you mind telling me where you sourced the chests from? I've been looking for some and I think these may fit the bill perfectly. Thank you!
